Takao Laboratory

To guarantee feasibility and sustainability of nuclear power system, it is important to understand fundamental chemistry of actinides and fission products, which are highly relevant to nuclear fuel cycle and related engineering. Main focus of this lab is coordination and solution chemistry of these metal ions as well as organic and computational chemistry, green chemistry with ionic liquids, and microwave technology to develop bases of fuel reprocessing and treatment of radioactive wastes, peaceful and effective use of depleted/recovered uranium, and decontamination process for retrieval from the Fukushima accident.
